Temple is on the Upswing

West Point, NY: Seven members of the Temple Men's Gymnastics team competed in the team event at the 2019 West Point Open. The most noticeable detail about this squad is that it has doubled in size since the 2018 West Point Open! We were even fortunate enough to have an athletic trainer travel with us for the weekend, thanks to Temple Campus Recreation and Novacare.

The WPO field featured six teams in total: Penn State, Navy, Army, William and Mary, Springfield, and Temple. The Owls were led off by MVP Toby Warren (Jr.) who set the pace for the meet with a hit set on parallel bars. Overall the team had a hit rate of 70%, and had 6 sticks; two of which were made by Ben Ewing on rings and vault. Congratulations to Taden Thurber, Orion Kelly, Forrest Kelly, and Ben Ewing for competing in their first ever NCAA collegiate meet.

We look forward to adding two more key members to our lineup for next weekend's meet at Navy! Temple competes in Annapolis at 2pm at the Naval Academy.
