Passing the Torch

Dear Alumni & Friends,

Every fall for the last 41 years, I’ve been excited to walk through the doors of gym 143 in Pearson Hall to work with the next group of Temple gymnasts - a team of young men that proudly represent Temple University and all of those who came before them. This year remains the same; however, it has come time to pass the torch to an extremely capable leader in former Owl Jesse Kitzen-Abelson. Jesse has worked tirelessly the past several months to make sure the future is bright for our program and under his leadership I know you will be proud of our “Boys of Temple U.”

While many things have changed over the past several years, our dedication to transforming lives through the sport of gymnastics has not. This year’s team will work hard to make you proud and I invite you to be a vital part of their journey. The Temple men’s gymnastics experience is priceless—but it wouldn’t be without you.

To keep the momentum going, I’m reaching out to you to support the current Temple team. As a previous member of the team or donor, your impact is undeniable and your generosity today will help to maintain our program’s ability to perform at a high level with a focus on academic achievement and comprehensive excellence. Together this year, we need to help support our guys by funding a sustainable model for things such as travel, meet day essentials, grips and apparel while making other strong investments in the future sustainability of our program. Temple does not financially support any volunteer coaches in the club system, so your donations, in addition to providing the team with operating expenses, allows our team to be coached.

You can donate to our Save Temple University Men’s Gymnastics endowment by going to www.philafound.org and clicking on GIVE NOW or by sending a check to Jesse, made out to TUMG, which will be deposited in the team account in Campus Recreation.
